Creative Play Learn to trust your instincts, have fun and work creatively with your group to explore bold comedy ideas. Comedy Techniques Explore different approaches to creating comedy, from timing and character to situation and surprise. Sitcom and Sketch Scenes Rehearse and perform scenes from sitcoms or sketch shows, developing your comic performance skills. Original Comedy Devise and perform your own original comedy sketch or scene, putting your ideas into practice. Character Comedy Develop comedic characters and experiment with multiple roles, voices and personalities. Useful information Do I need any previous acting or comedy experience? No, this course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some performance experience. What should I wear? Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. You will be up on your feet for many of the exercises. Do I need to prepare anything before the first class? No preparation is required. All exercises, games and scene work will be introduced during the sessions. Will I have to perform in front of the whole group? Yes, but always in a supportive and encouraging environment. Most exercises are done in pairs or small groups to help build confidence. What can I do after this course? Keep building your skills and confidence with one of these pathways: Comedy Acting classes to develop your comic timing, devising skills and performance technique across sketches, improvisation and ensemble work. Comedy Acting Level 1 to continue your comedy journey with a structured course that builds on your introduction.
