Perfect for performers who want to explore a wide range of musicals, this dynamic summer school combines the “triple threat” disciplines of singing, acting and dance while giving you real insight into the professional theatre world. Across five exciting days, you’ll train in a supportive but high-energy environment, work on material from a variety of West End shows, and rehearse towards a final showcase performance. Along the way, you’ll also step beyond the rehearsal room - going backstage at a major theatre and watching a live West End matinee to see industry professionals in action. Throughout the week, you’ll receive individual feedback, performance coaching and guidance from experienced Musical Theatre professionals. By the end of the course, you’ll have grown into a more versatile and confident performer, ready to bring everything you’ve learned to the stage. Sing a prepared solo from a suggested list (sent to all students prior to the course start date). The tutor will assess the level of each student and cast performances following these mini auditions. Take part in a solo singing masterclass. Day Two – West End Immersion Spend the day immersed in the London theatre scene by going on a backstage tour of a famous theatre. Spend the afternoon watching a popular West End show! Day Three – Rehearsals Begin Back in the studio for physical and vocal warm ups. Start putting together the group numbers for the end-of-week showcase. Day Four – Performance Preparation Final day of rehearsals includes warm ups, completing and putting finishing touches to all the group numbers. Work on staging scenes, solos and duets for the performance. Day Five – Showcase Day In the morning, perform the showcase run through and work on any notes. Dress rehearsal after lunch break followed by a final performance in front of a supportive crowd of invited friends and family. Useful information 1 Do I need to prepare anything before the course? Yes. You will prepare a solo from a suggested list sent prior to the start date. 2 Is this course suitable for beginners? Yes. While some performance experience is helpful, all levels are welcome and students are supported according to their ability. 3 Will I perform solo as well as in a group? You will perform your prepared solo in a masterclass setting and take part in group numbers for the final showcase. 4 Do we really visit a West End theatre? Yes. The course includes a backstage tour and a matinee performance, offering insight into professional productions. 5 Is there a final performance? Yes. On the final day, students perform a showcase for invited friends and family. 6 Will I receive feedback? Absolutely. Tutors provide ongoing feedback throughout the week to help you improve technically and creatively.
